CMYK
Also known as:
Cyan,
Magenta,
Yellow,
blacK
CMYK is a common ink color standard for printers, Instead of having thousands of ink colors, printers only need cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. By combining these ink colors in different amounts at printing time, other colors can be made. Combining ink colors is subtractive, meaning colors always get darker by adding and mixing them. Ex: starting with white paper, a printer can only take away brightness by adding ink. This is the opposite of color mixing with light (as on a computer monitor or TV) where adding colors increases brightness.
